This is a very special Chichen Itza tour, an exclusive program that includes a visit to a Mayan village to discover “Pujulá Aldea Maya”. We will visit a town near Chichén Itzá called Kaua where we will find a community project called ¨Pujulá Aldea Maya¨, a space that celebrates and honors the conservation of the Mayan culture.

In your Mayan village tour, you will learn some of the traditional practices of the Maya and knowledge such as the construction of rustic palapas or Mayan houses. They will explain the techniques they apply in the elaboration of various kitchen utensils and household tools, all of them made from liana and sosqui found in the Yucatan jungle. Learning how to prepare tamales in a workshop run by women from the community is a priceless (and delicious) experience.

Later you will enjoy a guided tour of Chichén Itzá, considered a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Admire the striking structures such as the Pyramid of Kukulcán, The Ball Court, the Observatory and the Temple of Warriors. Finally you will enjoy a refreshing swim at the iconic Ik-Kil cenote and savor a delicious regional meal before returning to Cancun.
